Post Posted: Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:44 am

An official notice has been posted to the Facebook account of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Penang advising that it will be closing 'until further notice' from Monday 2nd April, 2018. The reason for the closure is said to be due to relocating staff to a new building adjacent to the current building. Its anticipated the closure will impact the provision of services for up to five days, however this has not been confirmed. The Royal Thai Consulate General in Penang is a popular choice for visitors looking to secure a visa for Thailand due to its proximity to Thailand. It would be advisable to contact the Embassy prior to making plans to travel to Penang to secure a visa for Thailand.

The Consulate processes the following types of visas:

Non-Immigrant Visas (which encompass the following categories):
Business, Employment, Teacher Employment (B)
Education, Conference/Meeting (ED)
