Moving to Cyprus - Please can you advise.

Post Posted: Thu May 10, 2018 8:53 am

Me and my family are so excited. We are hoping to move to Cyprus in January 2019. We've been in touch with a number of schools in Paphos. We already own a property in Tala, where we will be initially moving too. We've got visits to the schools with the hope of sorting something out when we next visit in July.

My question is regards residency. I need some urgent advice really. I've read on UK sites, Cypriot sites etc that i need to complete an MEU1a - which i have done. I have an abundance of supporting evidence all prepared. I have 39 attached pieces of evidence to my covering letter and MEU1a application form.

So what happens now? I have emailed various individuals within the local police/immigration departments. It seems i should be making my application to:Paphos District Unit of the Aliens and Immigration Service of the Cyprus Police as our district is not in Nicosia.

I have emailed various people at this department. I have emailed info at this department 2 or 3 times over the past couple of weeks to explain the situation and request an appointment to visit them and bring my documentation and application when i next visit in July.

To date not one person has emailed me back? I find somewhat bizarre. I must have emailed around 12 different areas and people in the hope i can track down who i need to be contacting.

Has anyone gone through this process recently that can help and advise.

We don't want to just turn up in Cyprus in January 2019 and then (as i am aware we have 4 months to submit the MEU1 but we'd like to do this in preparation, so its effectively granted before we actually arrive).

Please assist, and thanks in advance.

Charlie
