Problems with Worten

Post Posted: Sat Sep 08, 2018 11:30 am

I am having an entirely unsatisfactory experience with Worten and I thought I should pass on our experience as a warning.

We ordered a new oven online ‎on Saturday 1 Sept. We paid an additional amount for removing the old oven and taking it away and installing the new one. The oven was delivered on Wednesday as agreed, and I was then told by the delivery driver that a technician would come to remove the old oven and install the new one. We were very surprised as the whole deal had been done as a package and there had been no suggestion that it would be a two stage process. The driver said he expected that the technician would be in touch that afternoon. However clearly there was a problem somewhere in Worten because as I phoned Worten to find out what was happening they rang us to say that the driver had phoned them to ask about the technician!

Since then I have phoned Worten Customer Service several times and am always told that they are notifying the technician to contact us- which they have not. I have also emailed them several times but have had no response.

Yesterday afternoon I managed to persuade their Customer Service Rep who answered that call that their Supervisor should call me. She said that the Supervisor would phone back- but has not.

Currently we have an installed oven which does not work and a new one in the middle of the kitchen floor- and absolutely no idea when, and increasingly no confidence that, Worten will contact us to book an installation date, far less actually install the oven before we have to go home to the UK.

The alternative is to get someone else to do the work and pay them and for the removal of the old oven. Bearing in mind that a Lisbon lawyer friend told me that it was said that you should never start a Court action in Portugal unless you were under 30 and in good health we have no great confidence that we can recover from Worten the sum we paid ‎them to do that work.

I am doing an online complaint but my experience to date does not ‎give me any real confidence that that will cause much concern at Worten.

In similar circumstances in the UK I find that with a bit of Web research you can normally find out the name of ‎a senior executive/director and his or her email or postal address, and emailing/writing to them at least results in action- but Worten's are too well hidden! If anyone had any email addresses to suggest that would be very helpful.

Maybe try Deco Proteste here: www.deco.proteste.pt/r.../300001261

There are other complaints websites. I don't really know how/if they work, but you may find some useful info there or on a forum if you search "worten reclamacoes".

Hi

Easy when you know where to look.

Worten PT Wiki and on the right hand side is a big red Worten and below is the various info about Worten including the name of the CEO. When you do your online complaint mention you are contacting the Ceo and mention his name.

I once filled the Complaints book in at a Meo shop at 4.40pm in the afternoon. The next morning at 8.15am there was a load knock on my door it was the Meo guy to fix my internet.

Totally agree about the Complaints Book. They hate you to write in it and I have always found things move very quickly once that is done. A couple of times just asking for the book was sufficient to get the result that I wanted. The book can be completed in English and they have to give you a copy of your entry. It is also worth noting that refusal to give you the book is an offence.

Again many thanks. As I bought online I did not have a particular shop to complain at, so I did it online. Once I had discovered that you could complete that in English it was pretty straight forward, and I was sent a copy of the Complaint.

I have sent a copy of the complaint to cliente @ worten.pt
- the email address for online purchases.

Hopefully that will produce the desired result!
