Hi Peter. Hope all is good with you. Still trying to get my American Ford Focus registered with the IMT. The woman there is unfortunately very rude and unhelpful but hope that eventually things will work out. I even took a Portuguese friend with me in case something was lost in the translation but that didn’t help either.. After taking the COC, the Certificado de Approvacao and the Inspeção técnica periódica they are demanding the Pedido de homologação report for the car. Ford Portugal and Ford USA don’t seem to have this report. I thought that the specifications sheet for the VIN would be good enough but they still want more. Any suggestions Peter? Have a great day.

Hi cruizes

I am a loss as what to say. I have never heard of the problem you are having and I have spoken to an agent who also hasn't come across the problem. As soon as I get back home I will make some more enquiries.

Sorry for the late reply I am traveling and not due home till mid October.

Peter

Peter. The plot is thickening with the matriculating of my car. They are now saying that I just need to obtain the “ficha technica” for the Focus. A company located in Portugal says that it has to be obtained in the States and when I contact Ford in the States they say they have no idea what I am talking about. Have you ever heard of this. Hope all is good and you are enjoying your l in PT. Take care. Michael

Hi All

Sorry i didn't reply to the last post all is good now i am back from the UK.

On other Forums a guy who writes under the name of Travelingman and mfesharne had a problem with his Jeep type vehicle he wanted to import. He had or couldn't get a Certificate of Conformity but was able to use the technical spec from the sales from when the car was new. Using this sales tech documat he was able to get his vehicle imported.

Since he imported this way i met somebody at the market who told me they had done the same and managed to get there car imported as well. Below is a link that may be helpful as Mfesharme has put a lot of what may be useful information

britishexpats.com/foru...182/page2/

Well i hope that is of some help, i will watch this post in case i may be of further help.

Peter
