I notice that Mikkie had details on the British father here in Dubai who would carry out "civil" marriages in the UAE - could you please advise? My partner and I wish to marry in the next couple of months. Thank you.

Just sent you a PM with the name / number of the Chaplain... Good luck.

Hi Cello,

Most countries have a requirement that apart from a Church marriage, a civil marriage is a recognised court has to be done. For example, in india where I am from, this civil marriage is normally done a few days before the Church marriage. I was residing in the UAE, and I got my civil marriage done in the Indian Embassy which is authorized for it. Then after a week we got married in the Church.

Getting embassy documents attested for Visa requirements is easier and faster than certificates issued by the Church.

You need to check with your embassy. If you and your partner are different nationalities, doing it at either of your embassies shouldnt be a problem.

Hi Mikkie,
My husband has already relocated to Sharjah and I will be joining him later this year. My son and his wife will be coming to visit us early next year and as it will be their 10th wedding anniversary they would like to renew their vows. I would be interested to have details of the Reverend who might be able to perform this for them. Hope you can help.

Can anyone else help me out with this question, whether there is a Reverend who would be prepared to carry out a Christian blessing.

Thanks,
