Discovery show seeking off grid expert in Costa Rica
Ricochet Films are the producers of the successful ABC series Super Nanny. We're now making a documentary series for Discovery US, which will follow American families as they set up a new life on remote off the grid homesteads.
One of our possible families is moving to raw land in the jungle in either the Tamarindo, Golfito, Playa San Miguel, Nicoya or Punteas regions of Costa Rica within the next few months. They're building an off the grid cabin, and are aiming for self sufficiency, growing what food they can and raising some livestock. Each programme will feature a local wilderness expert, who will act as an on-screen mentor and guide to our featured families when they move to their region, teaching them all the skills they need to really make a success of their new life.
I would really like to ask if you can recommend anyone who would be interested in this on-screen homesteading expert role. Ideally, we need to work with an American ex-pat local to this part of Costa Rica who has really lived an off the grid, wilderness or homesteading life in this region of the state for some time - a veteran jungle homesteader, if you will... We anticipate 10-15 days of filming over a 5-6 month filming schedule (June/July onwards) and there is a fee for the role.
We do have an office in LA, but our initial research for this project is coming from our London office. You can contact me direct on 011 44 207 251 6966 (we're on GMT) or at james.christiemiller @ ricochet.co.uk
Many thanks for your help - I look forward to hearing from you soon. In the meanwhile, you can view all of our productions at www.ricochet.co.uk
