Castilla & Leon

Great news if you live in Castilla & Leon autonomous community. The "Junta" (the governing body for the region) has just voted...yesterday or two days ago, I believe, to get rid of the "impuesto de sucesiones" that is, the dreaded Inheritance Tax. This means that if you own property here, you will no longer have to worry about passing it on to your children...and end up losing more than what you inherit. I will post the reform as soon as I find an acceptable description. It will take effect in 2007...after the elections (it is an election promise but they have already substantially reduced the tax).
