Car Rego: Temp vs Permanent Rego - Barcelona or Madrid?

Post Posted: Mon Jun 26, 2006 1:44 am

Hi,

I am relocating to Spain and importing my LHD car from the USA. I am collecting it in Barcelona but reside in Madrid.

- Is the temporary permit and permanent registration 2 separate steps? Can I do the temporary permit in Barcelona, even though I live in Madrid? Or do I have to do both in Madrid?

- What documents do I need for the temporary and then the permanent registration steps?

Can anyone recommend a gestor in Madrid to do this? There is already a customs clearer in Barcelona who will have the car released there, but he does not do registrations.

Thanks,

wino
