HELP!!!!!!

Post Posted: Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:28 am

Hi all
I'm moving over to the Baza area in September (as some of you are already aware of) but i'm coming over to Spain next Thursday (13th) July until the 18th to try and sort a few things out.
My brain is working over time of all the things i'm going to need to get sorted while im there but can someone please make a list for me so i know what i'm doing Exclamation
I know i need to sort out my husband and myselfs NIE numbers (how do we do this if we do not have an address in Spain yet?)
we need to try and find a rental house, sort out a school for my 3 year old daughter, look for work etc
have i missed anything???
Thanks a million

Hi, You need an address in Spain for the NIE form. The schools are closed in July, so there wouldn't be much you could do about that when you go on the 13th. I noticed in another thread that you have a child with epilepsy, and are concerned about medication, so perhaps you could find out about that, along with how you would go about getting a medical assessment of the condition, once you are settled there. If epilepsy is classed as a disability, then you might find there's help with prescription costs and other things. For your visit, take your EHIC's with you and say you want to be seen under the European health scheme, and not as a private patient. I hope this helps.

hi
re NIE number. You do not need your own address. You can use your lawyers address. He can also get the numbers for you.

Hello Natalie,

Having spoken to a policeman friend of mine he says that you can apply for an NIE number from a National Police Station in the area that you wish to buy a house in, You can also ask the Estate Agent that you are thinking of buying from to get the NIE number for you and the Family. you will need this to assist you getting a Bank account, but its not nessary as you can use your passport to do this, but as soon as you get your NIE number take this to the bank and make sure that they cahnge the passport number for the NIE number.

The Schools are now closed for the Summer holidays and do not open until Sept about 9th? I think as my daughter has just finished School here in Spain and is going back to the UK to sit her finals.

I hope this helps, Good luck

David SR
