The Makelaars (housing agents) will sting your wallet for at least one months rent of the property that you decide to rent. Some makelaars even charge upto 100 Euros just to SEE some properties Shocked

I would suggest that you look at www.expatriates.com as this site has rental accommodation direct from the owners thus saving a months rent.

I found my accommodation through that website, and the housing offered by the Makelaars in the area I live in is approx 2000 Euros per month Because I went direct with the landlord I am also saving approx 400 Euros per month on the rent Laughing

You will find that 90% of landlords want to sign you up for a years contract so make sure you read the small print because it is the same as anywhere and you will always find unscrupulous people Evil or Very Mad

cheers
