TV in Netherlands

Post Posted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 4:53 pm

I am moving from Ireland to Netherlands this month.
1. Will my Irish TV work in Holland.
2. What is the best way to get English programmes in Holland - will I be able to pick up Irish and UK channels

As far as I know the TV itself will still work but you will need to change the plug (I could be wrong though).

A lot of Dutch channels show English spoken programs in there original language but add Dutch subtitles. You'll also be able to pick up BBC1 and BBC2 (London).

You can get more channels through UPC (http://www.upc.nl/index.php?PageID=147343&R=12785). That will give you more BBC channels, discovery channels, movie channels, etc most of which are English spoken with Dutch subtitles.

I'm not really sure of a way to get other Irish/UK channels (other then the BBC) unless you download them illegally from the internet.

I hope this info helps. Here are a few links to Dutch TV station sites:

Well, my Dutch TV did not work in the UK, but a digital receiver helped...
