I hope this will help to stop some of the crashes. BUT the Bulgarians need to slow down too! I have never been anywhere before where I felt in so much danger on the road. We were driving from Sunny Beach to Primorsko and I have never seen driving like it. Cars constantly overtaking each other all the time! Cars coming towards you head on all the time! It is a complete death trap. I have never been so frightened in all my life Shocked

I read somewhere that there 1000 deaths a year in BG through car crashes?

Waterlillie...It Sounds Familiar!...We Were Scootering Around GOA...Last Winter...Exactly the Same...And Night driving...With the Invisible Uncaring
Pedestrians...The Suicidal Pi-Dogs...Sacred Freakin' Cows Asleep on their feet....in the Road...And... Every thing You Say!
BUT the Good-news is...After A week or two...A Pattern Emerges...THERE ARE RULES!...But the Rules of AN ALTERNATIVE REALITY!...Certainly not one that We would CHOOSE to inhabit! ...But Having Been 'Beamed-Down'
as it were...We Adapted to the 'Local'Conditions...And 'unbelievably'...We
Started to Feel Fairly Safe...and began to Enjoy!.YEAH KEEP YOUR LIGHTS
ON PEEPS...I'm Looking Forward to my own Initiation with Eagerness and
Trembling!.......BoB.

Hi Waterlillie

Don't worry about the 1000 deaths a year from car crashes, its over 3000 a year over here and thats with an overstrung nanny state.

Old bushbar and I have driven in france, spain, portugal and india and you do adapt and it does eventually make sense. Oh except when we were in eqypt it was hard to dodge the bullets and land mines. But hey we are still here.

Keep positive and your sense of humour and it will be great.

Best regards Bunny

I have got these figures off another forum.

Bulgaria:
General trend in road safety
Key road safety data in 2004
943 road fatalities (960 in 2003)
7 612 injury accidents (6 997 in 2003)
12.1 killed per 100 000 inhabitants

Given that the UK with about five times the number of people has around 3250 deaths per year, that is horrible.

Bunny these figures in BG are enormas compared to the UK.

Bob we had a BG driver, it was'nt you was it? Peace and love! Very Happy
