How much does a fitted kitchen cost?

Post Posted: Sun Feb 11, 2007 6:11 pm

Hi,

I need a fitted kitchen for my apartment. I dont want anything flash, just good quality that looks nice.

Does anyone know where I could buy a fitted kitchen? And what is a decent price to pay for one? My apartment is on the South Black Coast. Thank you Smile

Hi Waterlillie, I had a kitchen fitted last September by Bulgaria Funiture which were very good and realistically priced. The company is run and owned by John Kaye who is British.

Where on the south black sea coast is your apartment?

Hi Waterlillie

The cost will depend as always on your requirements such as the size of the kitchen your require. Many of the carpeneters here from the shops will come and measure and then give you a price depening on what finish you want (these are generally more expensive), for example, do they have to do the plumbing, how many wall and base units and of course the areas for cutting out for making room for a sink, cooker etc. Bear in mind that most of the kitchens you see are bespoke, so the best thing to do is get hold of an independent guy (easier said than done) and then tell him that you want 2 base units or wall units with cupboards that house sliding doors ie.e for spices, jars etc or wine even (allow for oven and rubbish etc). I have found that you have to give them your requirements and then they goaway and price it for you, you can work up or down from here!!! hope it helps 'ish'. If you want I can give you the number of BG guy who works with a carpenter, he fits what you want, but he needs the bg friend to be there to translate - who is incidentally a builder!!

Prices vary between 2000 and 4000 lv, depending on materrials mostly and ofcourse the size of the kitchen and number of cabinets. For 4000 you will get the best ever kitchen with materrials imported from germany. For 2000 you will get one manufactured here, but also with quality materrials. Well there are also itallian companies like Martineli, which will quote you about 5000-6000 lv for the same, because of the brand.
As written in preious posts the price can't be given to you before an expert comes and measures everything.
Hope this gives you a rough idea about cost of a kitchen
My advice is don't go for the cheapest.
Cheers
Plamen

Hiya

We got a beautiful, wood kitchen from Pomorie, company is called Helios (best syrillic equivalent I can do on an English english keyboard is: XEANOC). They are a brilliant shop with English speaking sales assistants. Our cost the equivalent of £210. We got: a sink unit, 3 bottom units, 2 drawer units, 3 top units and a glass display cabinet. One 3m worktop and the little fixings that make it neat to the wall. We chose one of the cheapest sorts but as I said, very good quality. They deliver for 1 lev per mile. I think their website is: www.furniturehelios.com and they have another shop in Sunny Beach. We fitted it ourselves. We also got really lovely furniture there too for the rest of the house. I hope this helps and good luck.
