Toronto Dominates Fraser Institute's Ontario School Report

Post Posted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 6:01 am

Hi,

37 elementary schools have tied for the top spot in an annual report card of Ontario's schools.

The Fraser Institute report looks at 2,812 elementary schools across the province, including public and separate schools, and a small number of private schools.

24 of the top schools are in the Toronto area, including 16 in the city of Toronto.

9 of the top schools are in Southwestern Ontario, 3 in eastern Ontario and 1 in the north central region.

On a personal note, if you use a Newsfeed Reader and are interested in objective information regarding Canada and it's economic and social policy, then I can highly recommend the Fraser Institute's Newsfeeds, 1. News and 2. Publications.

Any questions, just let me know.

Cheers!

Paul-F

Hi Paul, thats ok I found a list of "report cards" on Ontario elementary schools.

www.fraserinstitute.ca...7DSW2.pdf#

To be honest I feel sorry for the Grade 6's who make these figures possible, because my son is in grage 6 and it is unbelievable the work and pressure put on them to do well to raise the school figures.

I would appreciate if you or someone could look at the above site and comment on the low marks for the Private schools. Is it that they are not marked the same for this report? I cannot see why not when the report has included them but are they missing something that makes them look bad or did I just pick one or two that were bad Smile

A
