At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at India and some of the bloggers who write about living there.

Every Day Adventures In Asia
http://everydayasia.com/

The blog of a Canadian who currently lives in India but frequently travels throughout Asia, this blog is guaranteed to give you a taste for wanderlust.

Carissa blogs about everything from monsoons to house renovations and internet connection speeds, making Every Day Adventures in Asia a really useful repository of information for the potential expat. Whisky lovers will enjoy the ‘Whisky Lady’ posts which are published once a month and review whiskies from around the world.

Chuzai Living
http://www.chuzailiving.com/

Filled with beautiful photography and reviews of local attractions, Chuzai Living is a great place to stop off on your tours of the blogosphere if you’re currently undecided about whether to make the move to India. Kaho’s upbeat style of writing and wonderful illustrations of her life in Mumbai will make you feel confident about moving to India and provide you with tips about what to do for recreation once you’re there. Take a look at the ‘Insights of Expat Life’ section for useful posts about all aspects of the expat experience, including safety for women and staying happy when you’re living far away from your old friends and family.

My Hindi Heart
http://myhindiheart.com/

If you prefer to receive your information in a visual format, My Hindi Heart is a great place to find it. Many of the posts are written in the style of comics by Crystal, the blogger behind the site, who is unafraid to share all aspects of expat life, including the more challenging subjects such as keeping up long-distance relationships. There are also more general posts about hair care, beauty and recipes peppered among the longer-form content which discusses the spirituality and culture of the diverse country where Crystal now lives. A must-read for current and future expats alike.

Hippie In Heels
http://hippie-inheels.com/

A self-confessed “one part dirty hippie, one party girlie girl”, Rachel blogs about her life in India and her travels around the world. If your dreams about being an expat spring from a desire to see as much of the world and make as much of life as possible, Hippie In Heels will only inspire you further. The ‘This Is India’ category provides anecdotes about Rachel’s life in India, from the hilarious to the serious, and the ‘Travel Resources’ section will prove helpful for anyone planning either a move abroad or a short-term visit.

English Wife Indian Life
http://englishwifeindianlife.com/

As the name suggests, this blog is the diary of an English lady who moved abroad to be with her Indian husband. The site is a real mixture of experiences, ranging from the serious - women in need and questions about universal truth - to the more light-hearted posts about snacks and the challenges of adjusting to the hot weather. The ‘Lifestyle’ section provides an honest look into life in India, including some of the culture shocks Lauren experienced after making the move, and will prove useful for anyone who’s thinking of moving there. There is also a page that allows you to submit your own stories to the site, making it a great place to find like-minded individuals and solidify your desire to move to India.

Those are our recommended expat blogs for today. Do you write about being an expat? Let us know in the comments!
