Christmas In France, Cancer Care In Portugal, And Supporting Refugees In Scotland

  Posted Monday December 10, 2018 (12:10:06)   (95 Reads)

None of us like to expect the worst, but it's important to think about what might happen if things go wrong health-wise in a different country. This is particularly imperative if you've previously suffered from cancer, since cancer care standards can differ hugely from country to country. This month we're taking a look at the healthcare system in Portugal and what you can expect should you need cancer care.

Even if you don't need immediate care, working out how the health system works in your new country can be a challenge. Take a look at our article about Denmark's healthcare options to help you out.

On a cheerier topic, columnist Rosemary Border Rabson talks about Christmas in the Morvan.

Brexit is a topic still at the forefront of many people's minds; here's what the latest news means for expats in the EU.

In this week's podcast we talked to a co-founder of Milk Café in Glasgow, a social enterprise that helps refugee and asylum seeker women to integrate into the local society and get settled.

We also looked at the results of a recent survey showing what Americans look for in a new country. Find out here.
