How Does Cancer Care In Canada Compare With The USA?

Tuesday March 31, 2020 (15:37:29)

The cost of advanced chemotherapy can be twice as much in Washington as it is in British Columbia, which is just next door. Scientists at Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, in conjunction with colleagues from Vancouver and British Columbia, discovered just how much the cost varies. A month’s worth of chemotherapy treatment costs roughly $12,345 in the US, but around $6,195 in Canada. Despite the stark difference in cost, the average survival rate on each side of the border is more or less the same, with the scales tipping ever so slightly in Canada's favour.   more ...

Complementary Therapies In Canada And How To Access Them

Thursday March 26, 2020 (10:18:03)

However, their benefits are not always backed by science, and should complement conventional therapy, rather than replace it. Examples of complementary therapies can include yoga, meditation, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and homeopathic remedies.

Studies have shown that around three-quarters of Canadians (79%) have used at least one type of complementary or alternative therapy/medicine at some point in their lives.   more ...

How To Apply For A Visa In Canada

Tuesday March 10, 2020 (11:04:18)

Even if you are only transiting through Canada, you will still require an eTA. If you have Canadian dual nationality, you won’t be able to apply for an eTA, so you will need a valid Canadian passport in order to board your flight.   more ...

The Canadian province of Quebec is an interesting option for would-be expats who are looking for someplace outside of their home country to settle. Quebec is experiencing a labour shortage that has led it to becoming more welcoming of migrants, while its long and complicated history has resulted in beautiful architecture, delicious food and a distinctive accent that only grows more charming with time.
