Denmark - Getting There


Denmark's main international airport is located 8 km from Copenhagen, with a second international airport 44km north-east of Aarhus on the Jutland Peninsula. Regional airports in Aalborg, Esbjerg and Billund serve flights from other parts of Scandinavia and the U.K. Shortest flying to Copenhagen are around 2 hours from London, 7½ hours from New York, 14 from Los Angeles and 21½ from Sydney.

There are road and rail connections into Denmark from Germany and Sweden, with bridges, tunnels and ferry services providing connections between the Jutland Peninsula, and Denmark's main islands. Copenhagen has road and rail links via Germany with most major cities in Europe.

There are numerous ferry services to Denmark from Germany, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Poland and the UK; Denmark's main ports include Copenhagen, Esbjerg and Frederikshavn.
