There are also international airports at Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Graz and Innsbruck, and many low-cost European carriers fly into these regional airports.
Approximate flight times to Vienna are around 2 hours from London, 9 hours from New York, and 25 hours from Sydney.
Vienna is the hub of central European rail travel, and has excellent connections with all major European cities. Train services are generally fast and efficient.
Austria also has a very good road network, with well-maintained motorways (Autobahnen) connecting it with surrounding countries. The main border points are open 24 hours a day, but tend to become very congested during holiday times. There are tolls payable for using Austria's highways.
