Professional Qualifications for Real Estate Agents in the USA
As a potential foreign investor in property in the USA, you will want to use the services of a licensed professional real estate agent. As the industry is closely linked to the finance sector, there are a number of qualifications that are required for estate agents in the USA. They also have to meet their legal requirements to be able to practice in their profession.
Real estate agents will have to obtain a Master’s Degree in estate agency, this is the recognized degree level that is required for an agent to be able to practice. An estate agent has to show his or her certificate in public areas of their office to show that they have met all the professional standard requirements to practice and any reputable agency will have their qualifications listed for any potential service-user to view. There is also a requirement to be registered with a professional regulatory body within the US.

There has to be federal law compliance and any realtor who fails in his or her duty can be sued for malpractice and struck off the register.
Fees charged will be laid out to the vendor of any property at the beginning of a contract. All prices are regulated and there is a standard procedure that all service-users are to be informed of any price changes as and when they occur.
