Los Angeles also has many medical, healthcare, and rehabilitation centers, offering a variety of jobs for nurses, doctors, counselors, and health professionals.
This large and bustling city is home to the largest manufacturing center in the United States, offering a variety of jobs in the manufacturing industry.
A leader in technology, Los Angeles is considered an early birthplace for the Internet. Many opportunities are available for those that have specialized in technology.
In addition, six Fortune 500 companies are deeply rooted in Los Angeles. Northrop Grumman, and aerospace contractor is one of these companies. As petroleum is a major industry in Los Angeles, Occidental Petroleum is based in the city. The large healthcare provider, Healthnet, is anchored in the City of Angeles. KB Homes, a major homebuilding company is another of these six Fortune 500 Companies. Because Los Angeles is such a large city, and the hub of so many different industries, it offers a plentiful job market. It is also one of the most culturally diverse cities, making it easy for expats to find jobs and become part of the city.
As with re-locating anywhere, it is always important to begin looking for employment before you arrive. You may not receive a job offer until you have established residency in Los Angeles, but you can make contacts with hiring personnel and recruitment agencies that will benefit you when you arrive. Also, research the many companies in Los Angeles, and meet with natives and expats to find out about prospective job openings in the companies they work for.
