Hong Kong - Getting There By Sea

Ferries run from the Shun Tak in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island and from the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) in Kowloon. New World First Ferry runs from TST, and Turbojet runs ferries from Hong Kong Island. The travel time is between 60-75 minutes, depending on sea conditions and the boat that is used. Ticket prices depend on the class of travel, although an economy class one-way is currently HK$124 while an economy class one-way night service is HK$176. Tickets can be purchased at the ferry terminals and some hotels in Macau.

The ferries are not usually full so there is no need to book ahead unless you are traveling with others and want to ensure that you all have space. Tickets can usually be purchased for the next sailing and up to thirty minutes before departure. It is advisable to book night sailings in advance.
The Chu Kong Passenger Transport offers a service between the Pearl River Delta cities of Zhuhai, Macau, and Zhongshan. Prices depend on where you are traveling from and which class of service you want. The Zhu Hai Jiu Zhou route takes passengers from China to the Macau Ferry Terminal. Prices start at HK$195 and go to HK$310 for VIP tickets. The ferry makes a stop at the SkyPier before going on into the city. There are also scheduled sailings from Zhong Shan, Shun De, Lian Hua Shan, Dou Men, Gao Mng, He Shan, and She Kou. These travel to Hong Kong town. Prices are slightly lower for children. There are also ferries which shuttle between Macau's New Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal and Hong Kong. The journey time is about an hour. The New Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal is close to the New Yaohan Department Store.
In Dongguan, Humen Port, located on Yanjiang Road (East), offers ferries to Hong Kong. The journey time is around one hour. The cost is CNY270 for ordinary cabin; CNY310 for first-class cabin; CNY340 for deluxe cabin. Ferry service arrives at the Sky Pier at the Hong Kong International Airport.
From Xiamen, you can take a ferry from Xiamen's Heping Dock, one part of Xiamen Port. A passenger ship travels to Hong Kong departs every Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
