Retirement, Managing Money And The US Election: This Week’s Hot Topics

If there’s one topic on everyone’s minds at the moment, it’s the US election. With only a few days left before all the votes are cast and counted, the Clinton and Trump camps are both ramping up their campaigns. We’ve compiled a list of blogs to read about the election – some from expats living in the US, others from US expats abroad. In France, things are a little less fraught, and columnist Rosemary Border Rabson gives us a glimpse of her life in the Morvan, where they recently celebrated All Saints’ Day.

Kathleen Peddicord, another of our columnists, gives a useful breakdown of the costs you’ll have to consider if you’re thinking about retiring overseas.

Reading about other people’s experiences is a great way to work out whether you want to move to a given location. Take a look at these blogs by expats living in Denmark, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

Some people go even further and write books about their expat lives! This week we interviewed Funky Chicken, an American-born Chinese expat who now lives in China.

And a few more tips to round off the week: here’s how to manage your money in Australia; and here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to move to the Canadian wilderness.
