Trams in the United Arab Emirates

The UAE is home to two tram systems, one in Dubai and another in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai Tram

Dubai has a tram system, known as the Dubai Tram, which began operation in 2014. The tram is designed to provide transportation services for passengers traveling within the Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence areas. The tram system extends for 14.5 km, with 11 stations serving the route. The Dubai Tram system is fully integrated with the Dubai Metro and bus services, providing a seamless public transportation system for residents and tourists.

The Dubai Tram is fully automated, and the system features a fleet of 11 trams, each with the capacity to carry 405 passengers. The trams operate from 6:00 am until 1:00 am daily. The tram runs along Al Sufouh Road, which is one of the busiest roads in Dubai, connecting residential and commercial areas. The Dubai Tram is a popular transportation option for commuters and tourists in Dubai, as it provides an alternative to driving on the busy streets of Dubai.

The Dubai Tram is operated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and the ticketing system is integrated with the Dubai Metro and bus services. Passengers can use the same Nol card to pay for their travel on all modes of public transportation in Dubai. The ticket prices for the Dubai Tram vary depending on the distance traveled, with fares ranging from AED 3 to AED 7.5.
