Best place to live: Paphos vs Larnaca

Post Posted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 3:59 am

What do you think would be the best place to live when comparing Larnaca and Paphos?
I've always had Paphos as a goal but I recently started looking at Larnaca.

Larnaca got a airport close which is a big plus in my book and the beaches near Larnaca seem to be better than Paphos beaches.

Is the cost of living in Larnaca higher than Paphos or is it about the same? I dont plan to live in the biggest tourist areas. Just a small apartment in some nice place.

Hi

There is also an airport near Paphos as there are two international airports in Cyprus. Paphos and Larnaca

With regards to the cost of living its around the same all over the island except for the rental costs, Larnava and Paphos are a lot cheaper for rentals that Limassol and Nicosia.

Beaches are definately better in Larnaca but you really have to go to Ayia Napa / Protaras to get to the best beaches (only about 25 minutes from Larnaca).

Always makes me smile, you are coming here to live and work presumably, I can assure you beaches will soon not be on that list, the last place you will want to be after working is sitting on a hot beach, it does not take long to get out of that holiday feeling after you arrive, you do similar things as you have always done, work, watch TV, sport, hobbies etc, the climate can be very oppressive here always something to remember, this summer has been a warm one, and if I could have got away from Cyprus I would have, have to say though I have never been off the island in ten years.

Where you wish to live is subjective and down to personal opinion, go with your instincts.
