Toronto - Shopping
Yorkville is one of the most elite shopping neighborhoods in the city, with trendy boutiques and fine eateries flanking classic Victorian homes. The Entertainment District enclosed by Queens Quay, Spadina and Yonge sports the famous CN Tower and the Rogers Centre and is charged with specialty restaurants, theatres and night clubs. In Cabbagetown meanwhile, you will find second-hand shops alongside flashy boutiques and organic food stores.
Right in the heart of the city, you find signboards in Mandarin lining the Chinatown district, and open-air food stalls and vendors beckoning shoppers to explore their bargain offers on clothes, electronics and furnishings. Heres where you taste all of Chinas most authentic recipes.
Similarly, Indian Bazaar on Gerrard Street East offers Indian cuisine and Indian groceries, clothes, jewellery and much more. For a slice of Italy, its Corso Italia on St. Clair Avenue West with its Italian shops, clubs and restaurants.
Skirting Spadina Avenue is the city's Fashion District where you can pick up good bargains on garments and accessories. Torontos Distillery District meanwhile has carved out a niche for itself on the citys shopping map with its historic streets and alleys sheltering art galleries, bistros, cafes, art studios and cultural spaces.
Unique to Toronto is an underground shopping network of almost 1000 shops, restaurants and hotels, referred to as the PATH. In contrast is the Harbourfront known for its shopping malls, wide marinas and piers, and a great centre for sports and cultural events.
