Christmas Reminiscing, Expat Experiences, And The French Nationality Test

A lot of people find January difficult; once the Christmas cheer has died down, and you have to wait weeks for your next payday, things can seem dark and dreary in the early part of the year. This month June Finnigan is reminiscing about Christmas in Italy, reminding us of the festive period and giving us a window into her life in Chianti.

June isn’t the only one sharing her experience of life abroad: we’ve also heard from Yayeri, a Dutch expat in Portugal, and Lena, who moved from Germany to Cambridge, UK.As usual, we have some more practical articles for you, too: here’s how to open a bank account in the Netherlands, and here’s how to pass the French nationality test if you’ve decided you want to stay there for good.

Speaking of passing tests… lots of expats find driving in a new country to be a challenging experience. If you’re only there for a short period, you might get by on a temporary license; but it’s possible that you’ll need an International Driving Permit at some point. Take a look at our article to find out what you need to know.
