If you’re looking for more of a how-to guide, Inside Santiago is probably the best place for you. With sections on sorting out a visa and work opportunities, where to live, what to do in Santiago, and stories from expats, the site is informative and useful for current and prospective expats alike. There are also a few posts on the lighter – but still important – elements of life, such as getting the hang of Chilean slang.

Jennifer Rose Roberts

Jennifer is originally from Los Angeles and now lives in Chile, where she writes about her experiences as an expat. The blog is written in a personal style, almost like a diary or a letter to a friend, so if you want to truly see Chile through the eyes of an expat, this is a great place to start. And if you’re unsure about moving, the photos alone will make you want to pack your bags immediately!

Querida Recoleta
https://queridarecoleta.wordpress.com/

A New Zealander who now lives in Santiago, Helen relocated there in 2012 and lives with her husband and son. The site is a mixture of different types of posts, from the personal day-to-day updates to the more general tips for new expats. Take a look at the ‘50 Things To Expect When You Move To Santiago’ to give you an idea of what it’s really like to make the move. If you’re an expat parent, Helen’s blog will no doubt be of help, with its guides to raising a child in Chile and its updates on what it’s like to build a family there.

We’re always on the lookout for more sites to feature – if you run a blog about living in Chile, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
