Hippie In Heels

From small town Ohio to Goa, India, Rachel left behind a nursing career to fulfil her passion for travel and exploration. Her ‘This is India’ posts, of which there are currently over a hundred, share her stories of everyday life and make very entertaining reading. If you want to experience a little off the beaten path India, this is an excellent place to start. Stunning photographs and detailed information makes this a blog to make time to read.

English Wife Indian Life

British born Lauren took a leap of faith and started off her married life in Nagpur, India. In her blog you will find tonnes of valuable information and advice about intercultural relationships, marriage, motherhood and the realities of life when two worlds collide. Culture shock has been very real for this English wife and she eloquently shares her journey, and her transformation, openly with her readers.

In 2003 Cyn followed her heart to India from her native Switzerland with one suitcase of belongings. One husband, daughter, cat and dog later she blogs about her expat life, cultural differences and her love of India. A great lover of all things crafty, her tips on decorating rental properties would prove useful to any expat. as well as her recipes which can all be made with produce you can find locally. Having lived abroad since 2003, she has experienced a great deal of change in her daily life and she documents it so that future expats can benefit from her experience.


Follow a teaching couple from Scotland, who moved to Mumbai in 2011 via an expat stop in Vietnam. This blog contains absolutely stunning photography; this lady captures beautiful scenes of her everyday life. When the pictures don’t speak for themselves though, they are always accompanied by a story. For a prospective expat wanting to know the realities of life in India, this blog is an excellent place to start.

Brits Bridget and Reece arrived in Delhi via a two-year expat assignment in Singapore. Leaving their grown-up families behind, these experienced expats approach their life in India with a genuine excitement that shines through their posts, sharing missteps and successes in equal measure.

Initially a French-language blog, they have helpfully translated all their content so that English speakers can enjoy it without first having to translate it. The atmospheric photos that accompany each post are truly beautiful and introduce you to India through the eyes of this entrepreneurial pair. Their expat experiences are honest and exceedingly useful for anyone considering travelling or moving to India.
