Vietnam - Recommended Social Media Accounts

Published Tuesday August 15, 2017 (16:16:43)

At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at Vietnam and some of the social media accounts you should be following if you’re thinking of moving there.

Expats in Vung Tau

With almost four thousand members, this group is a goldmine of information for any current or prospective expats to Vietnam. Limited advertising is permitted so questions and events are easier to ask about and see without fear of being lost in a group of this size. If you are looking for help learning the language, a rental property or just beginning to start the visa process, someone in the group will have likely done it before and will be happy to pass on their experiences.

Vietnam Expat Living

A closed group, which aims to act as a safe community hub for foreigners choosing to make Vietnam their expat home. Travellers and expats, new and old, are welcome and encouraged to share relevant information within the group. Over five thousand members strong and the group still maintains a friendly welcoming atmosphere, there is no question too small to be asked and answered here.

Expats in DaLat Vietnam

Current as well as prospective expats are welcome in this open group. When English speaking services are hard to find, groups like this one really come into their own, ask for a recommendation and you will likely get five. A great group for any expat settling into a new home in Vietnam.

Rick Silva
Twitter | Instagram

American expat Rick lives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with his wife and young son. Working as a teacher, writer and publisher has allowed him to enjoy a life away from the USA and explore a culture very different to his own. His Instagram documents everyday life just as he sees it, from his pizza for lunch to the beautiful architecture of his current home and his love for his expat home always shines through.

Jonny McLoughlin

Proud Irishman Jonny works as a PE teacher in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Any prospective teachers wanting to experience life in an international school will be very interested in his feed. As you would expect of a PE teacher he takes his fitness seriously, so if you are looking to keep fit in Vietnam his tips might be just what you need.

Maxon Pugovsky
Twitter | Instagram

Ukrainian Maxon currently lives in Saigon, Vietnam with his partner and young son. A self-confessed digital nomad, he enjoys the fact that he can work from just about anywhere and definitely makes the most of that opportunity. His photos document the daily life of this young family and show that there is more to Vietnam than blue skies and sea.

We’re always on the lookout for more accounts to feature - if you write about living abroad on social media, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
