At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at Cuba and some of the sites that might be useful for expats there.

Cuba Headlines
http://www.cubaheadlines.com/

A news site that focuses mainly on local news in Cuba, this site is useful for English-speaking expats who want to get to know the social and political situation of their new home country.

The site is split into categories, so if you’re especially interested in news about business or sports, this should be easy to find.

Here Is Havana
http://hereishavana.com/

Conner is an American expat who moved to Cuba and set up Havana’s first English-language bookshop, Cuba Libro. She blogs about daily life in Havana, about settling in to the culture, about adopting stray dogs and about the economy. Here Is Havana is a blog full of fun, useful posts that share information whilst getting across Conner’s infectious optimism. Reading this will make you feel like you can do anything.

El Yuma
http://elyuma.blogspot.co.uk/

A blog run in both Spanish and English, and therefore useful for locals and expats alike, El Yuma discusses everything that has an impact on life as an American expat in Cuba, with a strong focus on the current political situation. If you’re looking to learn more about the politics of Cuban-American relations before you decide whether to make the move, this is the place for you.

Butterflies Of Cuba
http://www.butterfliesofcuba.com/blog

One for the nature lovers among us, Butterflies Of Cuba focuses on the natural beauty of the country, featuring walks and trips to take if you want to see the local flora and fauna up close. A great resource if you’re just visiting Cuba, or if you’re thinking of moving there with your family, Tim’s blog will make you want to head there right away to take in the beautiful natural scenery.

We’re always on the lookout for more sites to feature - if you run a blog about living in Cuba, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
