At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at Taiwan and some of the blogs that might be useful for expats there.

Foreign Sanctuary
http://foreignsanctuary.com/

Constance is a Canadian expat who now lives in Taiwan. If you enjoy looking at beautiful photographs and reading about people’s personal experiences of a new place, this is a great site to visit.

Foreign Sanctuary really allows readers to see Taiwan through Constance’s eyes, from the joys of expat life to the occasional nostalgia for Canada.

Boy & Girl Globetrot
http://talesofawannabevagabond-jackie.blogspot.tw/

Jackie and Sean are expat teachers from the US, who moved to Taiwan in 2002. The blog is full of fun and interesting posts about their life there, including the ‘scoot adventures’ tag, which shows the fun Jackie & Sean have exploring Taiwan on their scooters. If you’re thinking of teaching abroad, this is a good place to look for tips and a glimpse into the reality of life in Taiwan.

Good Day Taipei
https://gooddaytaipei.wordpress.com/

Stephanie grew up in the US but now lives in Taipei and studies at National Taiwan University. The ‘Travelling Taiwan’ section of the blog will give you a good idea of the various different areas of the country, if you’re not yet sure where you’d like to live. Another one who posts brilliant photos alongside each article, Stephanie includes candid shots around Taipei to really show her readers what day to day life there is like.

AK - The Next Chapter
http://ak-thenextchapter.blogspot.co.uk/

A self-confessed travel addict, IT geek and foodie, Ann-Katrin was born in northern Europe and moved to Taiwan in 2013. The Next Chapter is a blog about all aspects of life in Taiwan, including travels to places of interest all around the country. If you’re interested in local cuisine, this is also a great blog to read for ideas of what to buy or make, from Taiwanese tea to pineapple cake.

Veronika’s Adventure
http://www.veronikasadventure.com/

Veronika was born in the Czech Republic and writes about her travels around Taiwan and South-East Asia. The blog aims to encourage people to get out of their comfort zones and travel the world - and to Taiwan in particular - so it’s perfect if the idea of expat life appeals, but you need the extra kick to get you started. Reading Veronika’s Adventure will make you want to pack up all your stuff, pick up a backpack and head into the unknown.

We’re always on the lookout for more sites to feature - if you run a blog about living in Taiwan, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
