A wide-ranging site that’s recommended reading regardless of whether you’re moving to London or just planning a visit, Girl In London has a huge amount of information about the city. The site is broken down into sections, making it easy to find what you need, whether that’s advice about starting the moving process, getting over the shock of being new to London, or just what to do on your short visit.
As the name suggests, Runaway Kiwi is the blog of an expat from New Zealand who now lives in England’s capital city. A straight-talking site that features a lot of very relatable posts for anyone who’s made a move across the world and then started panicking, Runaway Kiwi will make you feel like you’re not alone. Rebecca has a way of putting readers’ minds at rest about their fears, without making you feel stupid for having had them in the first place.
Sunny In London
A fun, lighthearted blog with heaps of advice for new expats, Sunny In London will tell you what you need to know whilst bringing a smile to your face. Offering advice on everything from what to buy for people who love travel, to how to navigate around London if you’re an American visiting the city for the first time, this is another blog that will make you feel like you don’t need to be daunted by the enormity of your first expat move. The ‘Things To Do’ and ‘Restaurant Review’ sections will also keep you busy and provide inspiration if you’re looking for places to visit.
Adventures Of A London Kiwi
With an utterly inspired site header and a fun, easy to read writing style, Emma’s blog is a brilliant mixture of personal life updates, thoughts on the experience of being an expat, and updates on her exotic travels elsewhere. The ‘London Life’ section is broken down into places to visit, attractions to see and where to eat – required reading for anyone either visiting or moving to the city.
