Latitude Adjustment

We are John and Susan Pazera, expats from the United States currently living in Medellín, Colombia. We got the travel bug way back in 2001, when we took off on our sailboat from San Francisco for a three-year journey through Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. That trip ignited a passion for travel and new experiences that informs almost every major decision we make.

Our blog is our way of sharing our experience as world travelers and expats. Our hope is that you too will be inspired to jump out of your comfort zone and find the thing that floats your boat — and perhaps even plan an escape of your own!

Cartagena Explorer

Launched in mid-2018, Cartagena Explorer is a travel and city guide blog for Cartagena, Colombia. Check it out to learn all about Cartagena, it and Colombia's history, things to do, and other destinations in Colombia as well as an expat corner dedicated to those living in Cartagena and Colombia.

Flavours of Bogota

Warning: this blog will simultaneously cause people to crave exotic flavors and book flights to Colombia. A country not necessarily known for creative cuisine, but infamous for the coffee fields supplying the world, Flavours of Bogota is a journey from table to table of a culture rich in undiscovered Colombian cuisine.

Sarepa, formerly known as Sarah until an Arepa addiction took over her appetite, is a self-confessed suitcase packer and cafe loiterer who blogs her escapades as an expat. Living in Colombia changed this Australian explorer's life and in her corner of the internet she shares the joy that this move has brought to her life.

Poblado Boy

Four years ago Larry found himself in a creative, dynamic, upfront city populated by wonderful people proud of their heritage. They lured him into their rich culture, and he has been sharing his adventures since, written in a personable tone that draws readers in.

The Sweetest Way

Named Happiest Country in the World in 2015, it's not hard to figure out why when you read Leah's post on her time as an expat in Medellin, Colombia. Full of tips and beautiful photography, this 'location independant' digital nomad fell head over heels in love with the second city of a fascinating country.

Truly, Nomadly, Deeply

Chris is a former conflict reporter, having covered wars in Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan. Now photographing and writing about his experiences for himself, amongst his most popular posts are exposes on the 10 Things to Hate About Bogotá and 10 Things to Love About Bogotá. Living in the midst of a country torn by civil conflict for most of its history, this is a fascinating read.

Three Kids and a Cat

Sadly now the new posts are a private project, Natalie's blog tells how she fell in love with Colombia and its amazing, resourceful, resilient and happy people. An honest journal of life, Three Kids and a Cat publicly shared a behind-the-scenes look at expat life and adjusting to a new normalcy of life in a small Andean town.

Richard McColl

Charting the thoughts of this self-confessed Journalist-Author-Hotelier-Guide in Colombia, Richard McColl's blog is full of lyrically expressed musings on life in Latin America.

M's Adventures

From revealing the under clothing corsetry native Colombians wear to how to ask for larger leaf mint, M's Adventures in Colombia are a well-written weaving of expat life and travelling stories around the world. Short and sweet, many of the articles are informative and surprising.
