At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at Singapore and some of the social media accounts you should be following if you’re thinking of moving there.

Singapore Expat Wives
Facebook Page | Facebook Group | Twitter | Instagram

Practical, stylish and family oriented, the collective calling themselves the 'Singapore Expat Wives' are simply there to help out fellow members. There aren't any secret handshakes, special knocks or costuming to become a community member, just a willingness to help and a click of the mouse. Providing useful advice and information on every element of expat life in Singapore, just be prepared to lose a few hours reading their fascinating stories.

New In Singapore
Facebook Page | Twitter | Instagram

The ultimate Singapore-oriented networking group, the varied events shared on this timeline are a brilliant resource for expats who want to settle into their new home. With a far more active Facebook page than Twitter or Instagram account, it is the perfect place to plan evenings and weekends - and the occasional lunchtime treat away from an office desk.

Young Expats In Singapore
Facebook Page

Definitely aimed at the Generation-Y expats living, working and doing business in Singapore. This is a community for collaboration, sharing tips and meeting up. The articles have a fun slant featuring intriguing videos and cheeky memes threaded though with thought provoking themes that will get both new and established young expats considering their home.

Singapore Expats
Facebook Page

Founded in 2002, this Facebook page is an excellent source of information (16,000 followers can't be wrong!) Their website has several specialisms; food, leisure, accommodation, dating and international schools, as well as a helpful merchant listing. The tone is professional yet friendly, and well researched.

Expat Kiwis - Exploring Singapore And Beyond
Facebook Page | Instagram

The two authors are couple of Kiwis from Auckland who made the big move to Singapore in August 2010. Having previously been there on holidays, they weren't quite expecting what Singapore had in store for them. Sharing their lives, fun discoveries and the honest thoughts of their straight-talking countrymen, this is a good place to spent awhile scrolling.

Expat Living Singapore
Facebook Page | Twitter | Instagram

Very simply, this is a brilliant place to discover what's on in Singapore, where to shop, dine, entertain and educate the kids, where to go to for pampering, discover finance information, health and fashion advice. As a source of inspiration, Expat Living Singapore is almost unbeatable.

Expats in Singapore
Facebook Page

Featuring a plethora of fun events, helpful articles and a vibrancy inherent in the characters of native Singaporeans, this Facebook page is so helpful. Especially handy for expats new to the island nation, this is a fun page with an underlying practical tone perfect for referencing on a regular basis.

The Wanderblogger
Facebook Page | Twitter | Instagram

This Nashville sweetheart has recently relaunched her thoughtful blog and social media accounts after a long hiatus, as she and her family re-settled into life in Singapore. Fresh from a stint in the leafy London suburbs, they have traded the cool rain her childhood monsoon humidity and couldn't be happier. Her posts are well considered insights to being an expat, one with a touch or two of wanderlust, and her photography is gorgeous.

Singapore Expat
Facebook Page | Twitter

This isn't a typo, but a second account with a very similar name and rather a different angle. Focussing on professionals - foreign diplomats, managers, lawyers, engineers, architects, analysts, doctors etc (not to mention their spouses) all expats living in Singapore are welcome to join the community.

British Expats In Singapore
Facebook Page

Designed to provide a platform for British people who are living and working in Singapore, and allow them to discuss almost anything from where to find the best roast dinner to how to best communicate with the taxi drivers. There are opportunities aplenty to network for pleasure or business with fellow Brits, tips on where to discover tastes of home and entertaining videos for a touch of light relief.

We’re always on the lookout for more accounts to feature - if you write about living in Singapore on social media, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
