At Expat Focus, we like to be on the lookout for resources around the web that could help prospective expats adjust to their new countries. Today, we’re taking a look at Cuba and some of the blogs that might be useful for expats there.

Here is Havana
https://hereishavana.com/

Certainly the best known expat blogger in Cuba, Conner tells an astonishingly honest account of living in Havana, the capital city. With a witty and no-holds-barred style, her story telling is evocative, heart wrenching and fantastic as a resource for anyone thinking of moving to the home country of Fidel Castro.

The Internet in Cuba
http://laredcubana.blogspot.co.uk/

With ethernet connections fairly non-existent and network connections slow to develop thanks to several factors, this blog about the lack of good access to the World Wide Web documents the frustations of the author and his guest publishers. Written bi-lingually in English and Cuban-Spanish it is an interesting viewpoint into several factors of life and social culture.

I Married The Poolboy
http://imarriedthepoolboy.blogspot.co.uk/

Though sadly the author has recently acceeded to the demands of a busy everyday life, I Married The Poolboy is a fascinating insight to life as an expat spouse. Meeting her boyfriend in Cuba's third largest city Camaguey, she writes about the surprises of being adopted into a large Cuban family, the lovely friends that can be made over the internet and the fascinating differences to life away from Toronto - including entrepreneurial kids who employ paper bags thrown down from 4th storey windows as shopping services.

Cuba Journal Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/cubajournal/

The instagram account @cubajournal is a mini-photo journal of Alma and her family's beautifully curated personal journey of life in Cuba. Featuring classic images of tourist favourites, real life expat activities and acting as a miniature window onto life in this intriguing country.

We’re always on the lookout for more sites to feature - if you run a blog about living in Cuba, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
