Vegetarians and vegans in Kuwait might find that they are met with some confusion. Don’t let blank stares or questions about whether you get enough protein put you off. You can find vegetarian food here more easily than you may think. In fact, these days you’ll find non-dairy milks in supermarkets, vegetarian and vegan cafes around the city and even veggie Instagram celebrities. more ...

Like most nations in the Arabian Gulf, Kuwait is fairly welcoming of expats (in fact, nationals only account for a little over a third of the population) and expat-run businesses. The State of Kuwait is situated along the northern edge of Eastern Arabia, right at the tip of the Persian Gulf. This ancient land has come a long way from the sunny desert it once used to be. Today, it has become one of the top locations for expats from all across the globe, mainly because of its superior living standards, ultra‒modern infrastructure, high earning potential, tax‒free salaries and world class healthcare. Kuwait is a country situated at the tip of the Persian Gulf. Located at the northern edge of Eastern Arabia, this country shares its borders with Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Only five countries have more oil reserves than Kuwait. This is responsible for Kuwait’s strong economy and why the Kuwait Dinar holds the highest value among other global currencies. The World Bank has stated that the country has the fourth highest per capita income as well. It is also one of the most progressive and liberal countries in the Arabian region. These factors make Kuwait seem like a very lucrative option for expats. more ...

Expats who move to Kuwait to enjoy the excellent work and living opportunities will be moving to a country that also has the world's most expensive currency. This means that it is a highly sought-after destination for many expats who can earn more, because the Kuwaiti Dinar is pegged to the US dollar. However, it's not necessarily a cheap country to live in; for Europeans in particular, the cost of living is similar to their home countries. more ...

Kuwait has always been a popular destination for expats. Rich in oil, the emirate is economically prosperous and offers lucrative career prospects to expats. In fact, the economy is one of the prime reasons why foreigners move to Kuwait. Its economic prosperity depends on the oil industry, and oil products make up almost 50 percent of the country’s GDP. They also constitute over 90 percent of the government’s income. With the increase in oil prices in 2010–2012, government spending accelerated, along with economic growth. But the fall in prices in 2015 paved the way for a budget deficit for the first time in sixteen years. more ...

The highly modernized, affluent and oil-rich Middle Eastern state of Kuwait has been an expat hotspot for a couple of decades now, mainly because of the excellent career and business opportunities it has to offer. It also happens to be one of the more liberal countries in the Gulf region, similar to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). More than 80% of the workforce in Kuwait is made up of foreigners mainly from India, Egypt, Pakistan, The Philippines, Turkey, Syria and Iran. You will also find fairly big European and North American expat communities in this country. Kuwait’s current population is 4.4 million people and locals make up just 30% of it, at 1.33 million. more ...
